Terminology¶
Seiken refers to the knuckle surface of the forefist. Jōdan indicates the upper level. Tsuki indicates a thrusting technique along a straight line.

Starting position¶
The same foundation as in seiken chūdan tsuki.

As in the block’s main count.
Execution¶
The fist travels straight forward toward the upper level. The line rises, but the technique must still go directly toward the target and must not be lifted from the shoulder.

Purpose¶
To transfer the basic tsuki form to jōdan level without losing structure.

Idō Geiko: Carried forward into moving high-line training.
Kata: Straight high-level hand technique that recurs in several forms.
Kumite: Foundation for a straight attack to the head line.
